Welcome to the Worcestershire Children's Social Care Procedures Manual

October 2018


This is the updated manual for Worcestershire Children's Social Care. Any copies of old procedures should be discarded.

The manual is laid out as following:

  • Procedures – this contains the procedures that meet the national social work requirements required by the legislation and statutory guidance;
  • Practice Guidance – this contains additional local guidance, tools and other information that supports and complements the main procedures;
  • Worcester SCB has a range of guidance on Safeguarding that will support your West Midlands Safeguarding Children Procedures can be accessed from the toolbar.
    You should read this supplementary guidance that includes procedures on CSE, Domestic Abuse, Missing FGM, Extremism and a range of safeguarding topics as well as the multi-agency child protection processes such as child protection conferences, management of allegations etc.
